Bloomsday, on the 16th of June, is the annual commemoration and celebration of the life of James Joyce. It’s usually a lovely day in Dublin, with fans for the book dressing in outfits from the time.
The novel Ulysses takes place in 1904 on the 16th of June and it also happens to be the date of his first date with Nora Barnacle who later became his wife. Bloomsday is named after the main character in the book Leopold Bloom.
