Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful best boy, Otto. He was the most gentle, sweet-natured dog.

We got Otto and Knuckles on the same day from the Ashton pound in 2010.

Knuckles quickly established himself as the boss by sitting on Otto.

Otto adored Knuckles and Knuckles just about tolerated Otto. But when they went out for walks they were as thick and thieves and both enjoyed a good roll in cow plop.

Knuckles died in 2018, and a few months later Juno came to live with us. Once again Otto found a best pal and he became very protective of his little sister.

He introduced her to his love of cow plop rolling, and there was no looking back for either of them.

We’ve had 12 fantastic years with Otto. As far as I can see, the only downside to pet “ownership” is their far too short lives.

Needless to say, Jason and myself are heartbroken and will miss our gorgeous “heartbeat at our feet” so much.

Good boy Otto. x
